We are a contemporary Church with a desire to help you to understand that God has a purpose for your life, and that He is vitally interested in where you are at right now. Individuals, families and communities are extremely important to God and He uses people to communicate that message. Part of the reason for us being here at Mawson Lakes is to serve this community and that means you!!

What lakes edge means to me:
When I was asked to give a small speech on what the church really means to me, I was stunned., not because i couldn’t think of what to say, but because it really made me think about what truly makes me enjoy and want to come to church every Sunday.

Many things ran through my head.. like yeah, you come for the little things like for some people, the worship or even morning tea might be the deciding factor.

But I think the only way I could fully sum up and explain what the church means to me, is through one word: Community.

The church is a community for me, a place where we gather together, as one family, a support system that gives us a sense of belonging. As a community I believe we mesh together, despite our differences, we all are connected by spirit and employ our unique abilities as a whole with the intent of strengthening our relationship with our father in heaven. We come together to learn and grow as a whole, making lasting relationships that with fortify, make stronger, our faith.

As a community, i believe every individual plays a part, no matter how big or small, whether the role in the church is anything from preaching and singing, to serving coffee and wiping down tables, as a church we function as one. And by providing our service to others, we are serving our lord.

And that is what makes Lakes Edge really important to me, it is like my home away from home, a place to lift and feed my spirit to guide me through the week.
